A Chaplain Comes Home: Home on the Westside Welcomes Monica Sealey to English Avenue
Another neighbor has turned the key to a home of her own through Westside Future Fund’s Home on the Westside program. Monica Sealey closed on a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home in English Avenue, joining a growing number of new homeowners who aren’t just moving to the historic Westside but are already invested in it.
A life spent showing up for others
Monica serves as a chaplain at Grady Hospital, where her work means being present for patients and families in some of the hardest moments of their lives. That same calling extends beyond the hospital walls. She does community work at the AUC Center and has rolled up her sleeves for service projects with Peace Prep, the neighborhood school educating the next generation of Westside children. Now English Avenue is also the place she comes home to.
What Home on the Westside was built to do
Monica’s closing reflects the heart of Home on the Westside: creating real pathways to homeownership for the people who are invested in the future of the historic Westside, and making sure they can stay and build here.
That takes partnership. Monica received $100,000 in down payment assistance from Westside Future Fund and our partners at Atlanta Housing and Invest Atlanta. Together, that support helped turn her aspiration into keys in hand.
To Monica, welcome home on the Westside.
