Transform Westside Summit February 17, 2017

Transform Westside Summit February 17, 2017

The featured presenter for our Feb. 17 Summit was Commissioner Tim Keane of the City of Atlanta’s Department of Planning and Community Development, who presented the Atlanta City Design Project.

The project was launched in January 2016 to envision what Atlanta should look like decades from now, promoting sustainable design that incorporates the social, economic and environmental needs of an Atlanta that can be one of the most livable cities in the country.

The project – which incorporates public engagement and input – will ultimately result in a plan to guide how Atlanta can grow equitably and sustainably while maintaining its core character.

Program partners Integrity CDC and Valkill Industries were on hand with three program participants to share the progress of  the program thus far. Click here to learn more about the project.

Special thank you to our Summit sponsor Chick-fil-A and to Rev. Howard Beckham, Senior Pastor of New Jerusalem Baptist Church and Founder/CEO of Integrity CDC, for leading our morning devotion.*

*Many in our community are driven by their spiritual faith to participate in the Westside revitalization effort. The time at the beginning of our meetings is an opportunity to share various inspirational reflections. While the speakers may articulate their personal faith, it is meant to be inclusive, inspiring and meaningful. All are welcome.
