EVENT: Community Input Meeting (Westside Future Fund)

  • When: 6:30 – 8:30pm, May 24
  • Where: The Gathering Spot,  384 Northyards Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30313
  • Details: Join us for a very important public input session to discuss the newly proposed Echo Street Project in English Avenue. The event is being presented in partnership with Westside Future Fund and the City of Atlanta. Representatives from Brock Built Homes, the developer of the Echo Street Project, will be on site to answer questions and field comments.

EVENT: Westside Homebuyer Readiness Program Info Sessions  (On the Rise Financial Center)

  • When: 6 – 8pm May 10 & 9:30am – 11:30 am May 19
  • Where: On the Rise Financial Center, 810 Joseph E. Boone Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30314
  • Details: Calling all Westside residents! There are affordable new homes being built throughout our community, and we want you to be ready when they are available! If you currently live or have lived in the English Ave or Vine City communities from 2013 to 2018, you are considered a “Westside Legacy Resident” and could qualify for our affordable homebuyer readiness program.

EVENT: Historic Westside Gardens host gardening with veterans (Historic Westside Gardens)

  • When: 9-12pm, May 12
  • Where: 307 Joseph E. Lowery Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30314
  • Details: Historic Westside installed a food garden with Mission Continue, a veteran organization at Quest Communities, in order to provide veterans living there an opportunity to access nutritious vegetables by growing them. Garden Angels will continue to coach them all year long.

EVENT: The Dream Forum (Atlanta Housing)

  • When: 9am – 2:30pm, May 12
  • Where: Impact Event Center 2323 Sylvan Road, Atlanta, GA 30344
  • Details: The Dream Forum is a symposium for high schoolers that brings together teens who are serious about entering into creative careers, exposing them to innovation via workshops, collaborative content-creation, and internship opportunities. The Forum connects teens with pros in creative industries intangible, immediate ways, while exposing them to companies, extracurricular activities, and post-secondary school opportunities that will enhance their existing skills and inspire their lives.

  • When: 8-10:30am, May 17
  • Where: Loudermilk Conference Center, 40 Courtland St. NE Atlanta, GA 30303
  • Details: In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, the May InForum talked about building resilient communities for children and youth with Dr. Glenda Wrenn of the Kennedy-Satcher Center for Mental Health Equity and Dr. Erica Fener-Sitkoff of Voices for Georgia’s Children.
